Isolators, multipliers and isolating repeaters.
UL Group signal isolators and repeaters condition analogue process signals between field instruments and control systems. They break earth loops, protect controller inputs from field voltages and let one transmitter feed two or more receivers. Housed in DIN rail enclosures with screw terminals and LED indication, they sit in marshalling panels alongside UL relay and interface modules.
The range covers a current signal isolator for 4-20 mA loops, a voltage signal isolator for 0-10 V and similar signals, and a signal isolating repeater that reproduces a loop-powered transmitter signal on an isolated output for a second system such as a data logger or safety PLC. Multiplier versions provide more than one isolated output from a single input so a signal can be shared without loading the loop.
Indian process plants use them where a transmitter must feed both the DCS and a local indicator, where long cable runs pick up noise, or where two systems with different earths share a signal. Specify input signal type and range, number of outputs, loop or external power, accuracy and response needed, and panel ambient.
Elume sells UL signal isolators and repeaters on order: send the part numbers or the specification and the quantity, and we come back with one GST-ready quote, usually within a working day. Bulk and project quantities welcome; delivery across India. See the whole UL range we quote on the UL page, or the full catalogue on UL's own site.
The series asked for most. Any other UL part number is quoted the same way.
When the transmitter, controller and other receivers have different earth potentials, current flows through the signal cable and corrupts the reading. An isolator passes the signal magnetically or optically with no electrical path, removing the earth loop and protecting the controller input.
It takes one transmitter input and provides two or more isolated 4-20 mA outputs, so a flow or level signal can go to the DCS, a local recorder and a safety system at the same time without loading the loop or linking their earths.
Yes. The repeater supplies the 2-wire transmitter from its own power and reproduces the 4-20 mA signal on an isolated output, which is useful when a controller input cannot provide loop power or must stay isolated.
