The Yaskawa VIPA Controls network and teleservice range covers the connectivity around a PLC: teleservice routers for secure remote access, PROFIBUS-DP repeaters that extend and segment a bus, industrial Ethernet switches, and the fieldbus connectors, cables and adapters that wire it all up. The teleservice modules connect to the automation system by MPI, PROFIBUS or Ethernet and are set up in a web browser.
Teleservice modules TM-C (900-2C5x0, wired Ethernet/ADSL router) and TM-E (900-2E651, GSM/GPRS router with MPI/PROFIBUS and Ethernet) use the free Talk2M service to establish a VPN to the machine within seconds. DP repeaters join two PROFIBUS segments and add subscribers. The Ethernet switch range gives redundancy and security on the plant network, and the fieldbus accessories include PROFIBUS-DP connectors with LED diagnostics, adapters and rails.
Indian OEMs who export machines or service remote plants use the teleservice modules to support customers without site visits. Specify the connection type (Ethernet, ADSL, cellular), the PLC interface (MPI, PROFIBUS, Ethernet), the number of machines, and for repeaters and connectors the PROFIBUS baud rate, segment length and connector type (with or without PG socket).

The TM-C or TM-E router makes an outbound connection to the Talk2M service, and the service engineer connects from a PC with the Talk2M client. The VPN tunnel then reaches the PLC, HMI or drive behind the router without opening inbound ports at the plant.
Add a repeater when a segment exceeds the cable length for its baud rate (for example 100 m at 12 Mbit/s), when more than 32 nodes are on a segment, or to electrically isolate a section. Each repeater starts a new segment with its own termination.
Yes. They are standard 9-pin PROFIBUS-DP connectors with switchable termination and fit VIPA, Siemens and other DP interfaces. Choose the version with PG socket where a programming cable must also plug in.
