Yaskawa VIPA Controls HMI products give operators a touch interface to VIPA and third-party PLCs. The smartPanels are compact touch panels for machine-level operation, the Panel PCs combine an industrial PC with a large touch display for SCADA and recipe-heavy applications, and the line displays are small text units for parameters and messages on simple machines. Visualisation runs on Movicon or HMI Designer with a wide PLC driver library.
smartPanels come in 4.3, 7 and 10.1 inch sizes with a 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A8, 512 MB RAM, 4 GB flash, Ethernet, USB and serial ports, running Windows Embedded Compact 7 or Linux with Movicon 11 or HMI Designer. Panel PCs offer 10.1, 15.6 and 21.5 inch displays up to Full HD on an Intel Celeron J1900 with Windows 10 IoT Enterprise. The TD 03 text display and OP 03 operator panel connect to VIPA and S7-300/400 CPUs over MPI.
Indian machine builders size the panel by screen count and resolution, the PLC driver required, the OS and the mounting cut-out. State the PLC make and protocol, display size, Movicon or HMI Designer runtime, operating system and any remote access or VNC requirement so the right panel and licence are quoted.

Choose a Panel PC when the application needs a large Full HD screen, Windows 10 software, SCADA-level logging and reporting, or third-party PC applications. smartPanels cover machine-level operation with recipes, alarms and trends at lower cost.
Yes. The panels support remote access through a standard VNC client over the Ethernet port and remote project management, which lets maintenance staff view and operate the screen from a PC on the plant network.
