The MICRO PLC is the Yaskawa VIPA Controls stand-alone compact controller for small machines and sub-systems. The CPU M13C is under 72 mm wide and carries 30 integrated I/O channels, an active 2-port Ethernet switch, PROFINET capability and an integrated web server for diagnostics and simple visualisation. It is programmed in STEP 7, TIA Portal or SPEED7 Studio using the S7-300 instruction set on a SPEED7 core.
The current CPU is the M13C (M13-CCF0001, successor to M13-CCF0000) with 128 KB work memory, 16 digital inputs (4 counters), 12 digital outputs (2 PWM) and 2 analog inputs on board. It expands with up to eight modules: digital input, digital output, analog input and analog output modules and the EM M09 module with two RS485 serial interfaces, for a total of up to 158 I/O channels. Connection is by detachable push-in spring terminals.
Indian machine builders use the MICRO PLC where a full SLIO or 300S system is too large for a small panel but STEP 7 compatibility is still wanted. Specify the I/O count beyond the on-board channels, serial interfaces, PROFINET use, the programming tool and any memory expansion needed.

30 channels are on board and up to eight expansion modules can be added, for a maximum of 158 I/O channels. Beyond that, a SLIO CPU with its 64-module backplane is the better choice.
Yes. Fit the EM M09 expansion module, which adds two RS485 ports, and use the serial communication blocks. Modbus TCP and PROFINET are available directly over the on-board Ethernet ports.
