VLAN, ring redundancy, SNMP and routing for larger networks.
ORing managed switches are the backbone of plant and infrastructure networks where ring redundancy, VLANs, QoS, SNMP monitoring and security matter. They run ORing's O-Ring recovery (under 30 ms), MRP, RSTP and ERPS, support PROFINET and EtherNet/IP conformance on selected models, and carry redundant DC inputs with relay alarms in -40 to 75 degrees C housings for DIN-rail or 19-inch rack mounting.
The IGS series is DIN-rail: the 9000 series (for example IGS-9084GP, IGS-9122GP, IGS-9168GP, IGS-9812GP and the 10G-uplink IGS-9822DGP) gives full Gigabit with SFP ports, the 3000 series is Layer 2 Lite with fewer features, and the IGS-T9062DGP adds TSN. The RGS series is rackmount: RGS-3244GP (Layer 2) and RGS-9244GP (Layer 3) with 24 Gigabit copper and 4 SFP ports, and the RGS-92222GCP-NP modular unit.
Indian buyers choose Layer 2 for cell and machine networks and Layer 3 where plant subnets must route between each other. Decide port mix (copper versus SFP), uplink speed (1G or 10G), ring protocol, PROFINET or EtherNet/IP conformance and the power input, and state the management features the IT or OT team requires.

Layer 3 is needed when the switch itself must route between subnets, for example between the process network, the utilities network and an IT segment. If a router or firewall already does that, Layer 2 managed switches with VLANs are sufficient and cheaper.
O-Ring is ORing's proprietary ring protocol that detects a broken link and reroutes traffic in under 30 ms. It works between ORing switches; where third-party switches share the ring, use the standard MRP, RSTP or ERPS protocols that the same switches support.
Selected IGS-9000 models with the PN suffix, such as IGS-9122GP-PN and IGS-9168GP-PN, carry PROFINET conformance and MRP. State PROFINET in the enquiry so a conformant model is quoted.
