ETHERLINE is LAPP's range of copper Ethernet cables for factory networks: PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT and standard TCP/IP. Compared with office patch cable, the cables use heavier sheaths, better screening and solid or stranded conductors matched to fixed, flexible or drag-chain use. Category 5 and 5e cover 100 Mbit/s and 1 Gbit/s two- and four-pair designs, while Cat.6A supports 10 Gbit/s.
ETHERLINE PN Cat.5 is the PROFINET type A fixed-installation cable with solid 22 AWG conductors, and the FC (Fast Connect) versions cut stripping time. ETHERLINE Cat.5e FD and FD P are drag-chain cables with PUR sheaths. ETHERLINE Cat.6A Y FLEX FC and PN Cat.6A FD FC bring 10 Gbit/s to flexible and chained runs. Pre-assembled PN patchcords with RJ45 or M12 D-coded connectors are available in set lengths.

ETHERLINE PN Cat.5 is the certified PROFINET type A cable for fixed installation. For runs that move use the PN FLEX (type B) or PN FD (type C) versions. All are green sheathed to the PROFINET guideline and carry the 2x2xAWG22 construction.
Only where links run at 10 Gbit/s, such as camera backbones or switch uplinks. Most PLC and drive traffic runs at 100 Mbit/s or 1 Gbit/s, which Cat.5 and Cat.5e handle with less cost and smaller bend radius.
