This family covers two jobs on the plant network: getting machine data up to IT and cloud systems, and keeping attackers out of the OT layer. Anybus Edge gateways collect data from PROFINET, PROFIBUS, EtherNet/IP, M-Bus and I/O, pre-process it locally and publish it securely through the HMS Hub broker to dashboards or third-party clouds. Anybus Defender appliances segment and filter industrial networks in line with IEC 62443.
Anybus Edge gateways and the HMS Hub form the end-to-end IIoT platform with device management and visualisation. X-gateway IIoT turns PLC I/O data into OPC UA and MQTT tags. The Anybus Defender range has four models: Compact 1004 for small cells, 4002 for medium networks, 6004 for larger plants and the 6024 flagship, with RJ45 and SFP ports for copper or fibre, NAT, traffic filtering and deep packet inspection of Modbus, PROFINET and other industrial protocols.
Indian buyers state the data sources and protocols, the cloud or MES target (MQTT broker, OPC UA client, Azure, AWS), the number of zones to segment, throughput and port count, and whether fibre uplinks, redundant power or remote management are required for the site.

It understands industrial protocols. Deep packet inspection can allow Modbus reads but block writes, or restrict PROFINET to known devices, while NAT and zoning follow IEC 62443-3-3. Office firewalls do not inspect these protocols.
Yes. The gateway publishes through the HMS Hub broker, which integrates with third-party clouds and enterprise systems, or you can use the X-gateway IIoT to send OPC UA or MQTT directly to your own broker.
The Anybus Edge solution is designed around the HMS Hub portal, which is licensed. If you only need OPC UA or MQTT into your own system without a portal, the X-gateway IIoT or a CompactCom IIoT Secure device is the simpler route.
