Omron E5 series controllers regulate heaters, ovens, extruders, dryers, packaging seal bars and plastics machinery with 2-PID control, auto-tuning and up to 50 ms sampling. They accept thermocouple, PT100, analog and process inputs, drive relays, SSRs or 4 to 20 mA outputs, and connect over RS-485 Modbus or Omron CompoWay/F. Panel meters display and alarm on process signals, and multi-loop modules pack several zones into the cabinet.

E5CC is the 48 x 48 mm standard with a large white PV display, E5EC the 48 x 96 mm and E5AC the 96 x 96 mm versions; E5EC-T adds ramp-soak programs. E5CD and E5ED are the next generation that detect heater and sensor status changes. E5GC is the compact 48 x 24 mm model, E5DC the 22.5 mm DIN rail unit and E5CB the basic controller. EJ1N is the multi-loop module and K3HB the panel meter family.

Does the E5CC replace the older E5CN?

Yes. E5CC is the direct successor to E5CN in the same 48 x 48 mm cut-out with a larger display and faster sampling. Programming of setpoints and alarms is similar, and the RS-485 version keeps CompoWay/F and Modbus.

Can an E5CC drive an SSR for a heater?

Yes. Order the voltage pulse output version (12 V DC) and pair it with a G3NA or G3PE solid state relay sized to the heater current. The relay output version suits contactor-switched heaters instead.

Which controller suits a 16-zone extruder?

EJ1N multi-loop modules pack four loops each on DIN rail and link to an Omron PLC or HMI over serial, which is more compact than sixteen E5CC units. For individual panel control, E5CC or E5GC per zone also works.
