TRB gateways are Teltonika Networks' smallest cellular devices: a single-SIM LTE or 5G modem with one Ethernet, serial or I/O interface in a palm-sized DIN rail housing. They connect a single meter, PLC, controller or sensor to the internet without the switch ports and Wi-Fi of a full router. RutOS provides Modbus TCP and RTU, MQTT, VPN clients and SMS control on every unit.
TRB1 models use LTE Cat 1 with one interface each: TRB140 has Ethernet, TRB141 digital and analogue I/O, TRB142 RS232, TRB143 M-Bus and TRB145 RS485. TRB2 models (TRB245, TRB246, TRB255, TRB256) combine Ethernet, RS232, RS485 and I/O in one unit, with TRB255 and TRB256 adding LTE Cat M1 and NB-IoT for low-power sites. TRB500 is the 5G gateway with Gigabit Ethernet.
Indian buyers fit TRB units to energy meters, DG set controllers, water pumps, weighbridges, solar inverters and remote PLCs where one device needs a link. Choose by the interface the equipment actually exposes, LTE category and Indian band coverage, NB-IoT or Cat M1 availability from the operator, I/O count and DC input range.

A TRB gateway connects one device through one interface and has no switch ports or Wi-Fi. A RUT router serves several wired and wireless devices. For a single Modbus meter or PLC, a TRB is smaller and simpler; for a panel with multiple devices, choose a RUT.
Yes. TRB145 has an RS485 port and RutOS includes a Modbus RTU master, data-to-server function and MQTT publisher, so register values can be polled and sent to an HTTP or MQTT endpoint without extra hardware.
TRB255 supports LTE Cat M1, NB-IoT and 2G fallback, but operator support for Cat M1 and NB-IoT varies by circle. State the operator and location so the right technology and SIM plan can be confirmed before quoting.
