What is the standard switchboard height in India?
1,200 to 1,350 mm from finished floor level, beside the door on the latch side. Kept consistent through the house, it suits standing adults, older children and most seated users.
At what height should sockets be installed?
300 to 450 mm for floor-level and permanent appliances, 900 to 1,100 mm where plugging happens daily (bedsides, desks, charging spots), and 150 to 200 mm above counters in kitchens. Placement follows use, not one universal number.
What height should the AC point be?
2,100 to 2,300 mm, close to the indoor unit's planned position so the cord stays short and hidden. Agree the unit's exact location, and the outdoor unit and drain path, before fixing the point.
